Off-road riding near Ubud

North and east of town — around Tegalalang, Keliki, Payangan and the Petanu and Ayung river valleys — there are dirt tracks, terrace edges, steep loose climbs and jungle trails. This is genuine trail riding: technical in places, wetter than the coast and slippery when it rains, so ride to the conditions and carry a layer.

Stick to established tracks, don’t ride across planted terraces or through temple grounds and ceremonies, and give farmers and walkers plenty of room.
